The first of many

Well this will be the first of many of what I have been teaching in Sunday School. Lords will we will be traveling through the book of Psalms verse by verse.
The Study In Psalms
I want to say first that the Psalms are Adoration to God. The definition of adoration is as follows.
Webster's 1828 Dictionary [A-J]adoration
ADORA'TION, n.
1. The act of paying honors to a divine being; the worship paid to God; the act of addressing as a God.
Adoration consists in external homage, accompanied with the highest reverence. It is used for the act of praying, or preferring requests or thanksgiving, to the Supreme Being.
2. Homage paid to one in high esteem; profound reverence.
You see the authors such as David, Moses, The sons of Korah, Heman, and others through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost give honor to were honor should be giving. GOD!
And we as Christians ought to do so also, though I am unworthy He counted me worthy to be saved.
Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
That word Blessed is to be happy. Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Are you happy today? Is there joy in your Christian life?
There is a reason why we are not happy or blessed.
When you are blessed things are going right and peace is with you, but the main reason we are not happy or being blessed is because of our walk. What you do in your Christian life affects your outcome.
God said Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly. In other word going along side with the world. (ill. How we are to be separate. Where the world is and where the Christian should be)
For the body to stay at the weight or to lose weight or maybe to be stronger he or she has to exercise. This is what David is trying to put forth to us today. To not walk in ungodliness we have to exercise as well.
Listen to this next phrase; who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. He takes wiser counsel, and walks in the commandments of the Lord his God. To him the ways of piety are paths of peace and pleasantness. His footsteps are ordered by the Word of God, and not by the cunning and wicked devices of carnal men. It is a rich sign of inward grace when the outward walk is changed, and when ungodliness is put far from our actions.
Now let’s turn to Romans 8;1-13#1 I want to point out in verse one union with Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
If you are a Christian and you do things that are sinful or a sin then you do the latter part of this verse. But yet God said it should be forbidding you to do that.
In other words you should all ready know that.
When I first got saved I didn’t know I couldn’t do certain things or knew that this or that was in the bible but up until I knew it or heard it preached from the bible then we have a choice, be blessed and obey or satisfy the flesh.
I have a short study on the Flesh vs the Spirit turn to Matt. 26:41 (ill. Booklet)
Remember we are joined with Christ at our salvation so there is no escape.
2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
Paul in this verse expressed to the church in Corinth of the possibility of fallen away from serving God.
This jealousy spoken of here is not over a chastened lover but of a GODLY ZEAL Paul had for them not to be persuaded away from the Gospel.
He was reminding them and for us today that we are one with Christ.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

At Last

Well it has been awhile since I have posted and I did not forget though. First I would like to say that John the Baptist was the answer to my poll. Jesus said; Matthew 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
I have been working alot, and in so much pain. my feet are still hurting so much. The lifts have worked a little and the pills have brought down some inflammation. we will be moving to Jennings soon and we are excited about that as well. This Sunday as Associate Pastor at Calvary Baptist I will be teaching Sunday school to the adults. I have been wanting to teach on the whole book of Psalms verse by verse. So far God has giving me liberty to study 2 days this week and it has been awesome. As I teach I will be posting the lesson God has giving me as the weeks go by. I know that these outlines will be taking alot of room on my blog but Until I figure out how to put a link on I will do it this way. Please don't forget to pray for my feet.
