The Next Time He Comes

I thank God for my salvation, And I know that the next time he comes there will be no Calvary, No more having to die for me, He wont have to be denied, He will just come for me, and all that I hope for wil be mine, I will ride upon a horse though I never have here on earth. You know I think I will like that though. But the best thing is my Jesus I shall see.

On the Defence

It seems like we are always on the defence and run down. Preach but not on sin, Preach but not on me, Preach to feel good but all the long you are dieing and going to hell. It is amazing how indifferent people can be towards the preaching. And in our Baptist churches at that. What would our forefathers do in this age we are in today. Charles Haddon Spurgeon once said,We are told that we are scaring people to getting saved." That was back in the 1800's. Were are we at today. That California group are saying that we fundamentalist are scaring people. That is those promise keepers, they wouldn't know of Gods promises in the bible. But yet most of our Independent Baptist Church's are sounding like them and under our noses, you done compromised and cant even discern anymore. Every week I hear of churches who have done left the old path.
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
This generation is staggering concerning spiritual things, We are told that every thing is alright and leave it alone, stop preaching on standards and convictions. Some preachers today are scared to preach and ruffle some feathers. We are getting more scits than scripture today.
Our churches were not built on Charles Stanley how to books it was on Preaching. What happened to pinning ears back and plowing deep.
I couldn't even constrain my self this morning when after church I was asked some stupid question. I told him it is stupid people who make stupid comments like this is why most preachers carry a gun now.
There are more people complaining about preachers rather then praying for them. It makes me sick that this is were we are at this day. A generation of no discernment. And what gets me is that those the complain the most don't even have there house in order. Dress Like the world and still listen to ungodly music, don't come to church faithfully, sick on Sunday but go to work on Monday. There were those in the bible that went against the man of God got told on and then went home and at least got there house in order before killing them self. Hezekiah before he was to die was told by God to get there house in order first.
But yet today it is what ever you want attitude. A generation with out discernment.
I am trying not to get angry and sin not.

How Bold are we in Our Christian walk

Why We Don’t
Have Revival
In an old town in Ireland they’ll show you with
reverence a place where four young men met night
after night after night praying for revival. In Wales,
there’s a place in the hills where three or four young
men only 18 or 19 years old met and prayed night
after night. They wouldn’t let God go; they would
not take no for an answer. As far as humanly possible
they prayed a revival into birth. If you’re thinking
of revival at your church without any inconvenience,
forget it. Revival costs a lot.
I can give you one simple reason why we don’t
have revival in America. Because we’re content to
live without it. We’re not seeking God - we’re seeking
miracles, we’re seeking big crusades, we’re seeking
blessings. In Numbers 11, Moses said to God,
“You’re asking me to carry a burden I can’t handle.
Do something or kill me!” Do you love America
enough to say, “God, send revival or kill me”? Do
you think it’s time we changed Patrick Henry’s
prayer from, “Give me liberty or give me death,” to
“Give me revival or let me die”?
In the 30th chapter of Genesis, Rachael goes to
Jacob and throws herself down in despair. She says,
“Give me children or else I die.” Are you willing to
throw yourself down before God to seek the spiritual
birth of spiritual children in our country?
People say, “I’m filled with the Holy Spirit.” If
the coming of the Spirit didn’t revolutionize your
prayer life, you’d better check on it. I’m not so sure
you got what God wanted you to get.
We’ve said that prayer changes things. No!
Prayer doesn’t change things. Prayer changes people
and they change things. We all want Gabriel to
do the job. God says do it yourself - with My sufficiency
and My strength.
We need to get like this woman, Hannah. What did
she do? She wept, she was grieved, she said she
had a complaint, she fasted - and she prayed.
Jesus, the anointed of God, made prayer His
custom. Paul, with his background and intellect,
depended on prayer because he said he was weak.
David, the king, called himself a poor man and
cried to the Lord. Hannah prayed for a son and
gave birth to a prophet. The prayers of a handful of
young men sparked revival.
Now I say very often - and people don’t like it - that
God doesn’t answer prayer. He answers desperate
prayer! Your prayer life denotes how much you
depend on your own ability, and how much you
really believe in your heart when you sing, “Nothing
in my hands I bring, simply to Thy cross I
cling....” The more self- confidence you have, the
less you pray. The less self-confidence you have, the
more you have to pray.
“In prayer, I must wrestle like Jacob, and pant like
David, and hope like Elijah, and be persistent like
Bartimeus, and cry with tears like my blessed Lord.”

William suffered from depression, how do you handle it

“Satan trembles when he sees the weakest saint upon their knees.”
William Cowper

“I seem forsaken and alone, / I hear the lion roar; / And every door is shut but one, / And that is Mercy's door.”

Another beautiful day

Well today is a good looking day and I thank God for that. I just thank him for giving me the opportunity to have this day. The Psalmist said in 3:5 I laid down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.
Hey I could of woken up in Glory if God wanted me but he sustained me today to do is will. I pray God helps me in Sunday School and leads me, fills me, and lets the cup run over. I got so much on my heart today. I have heard much preaching this week and I love it. I need more help than you can ever imagine. Our testimony is not what it used to be. We are forgetting what we used to be. It seems that people don't like hard preaching, sin naming, hell shunning preaching. What if the fullness of time came in our day today, how many of us would be crying to Pilate crucify Him. What ever happened to separation? What ever happened to living for God? The cults are doing more for their movements than our churches.
We need reminding of were we came from, we need reminding of what we used to be, hell bound of full of the world, we were Condemned already,
I was talking to Bro. Buddy yesterday and he said it right, He said,"John, it is hard to be angry and sin not." That was a profound statement.
that is were we are today, and my Pastor is right, it is hard. But thanks to Calvary I am not what I used to be.
I think I will just go to church and praise Him.
