So much anger

It seems no matter were you are whether in the church house or in the streets there is much anger. My wife's cousin; a police officer with the Harlingen Police Dept. was shot multiple times in an ambush. We thank God that He is recovering well after surgery, but he is still awaiting more surgery to remove more bullet fragments from his body. Please remember him in your prayers, and not only them but all peace officers as well. Some are very critical of officers but most will not take there jobs. I have 3 friends in the Jennings Police force and I pray that God keep them safe.

Prayer request

I would appreciate you all pray for Tod, he went to the doctor today. He had suffered heat exhaustion and lost some electrolytes and it took a toll on his body. I am going fishing with him on Thursday and I need him healthy. Not for fishing but because I don't want to carry him through the bush, (get out of the bush). By the way Tod is Nicole's little friend,

A Jr Church

I preached Sunday morning to the Children yesterday on Death, Before I started to preach I asked the kids what they thought about what I was about to preach and to my amazement not one child wanted me to preach on that, they were so scared, But I told them I had to, Because it is a reality. I started with 2 Samuel 14:14 For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
This verse captivated my heart. I explained to those kids that when the appointment comes to die not even God will stop this appointment. This verse says that God will not make a devise to stop this death. Today Doctors try hard with many devises to keep a man alive, but no man can intervene,
Now I know of those that God healed at what seemed like the door of death, Those I believe were not appointments, and if it was then it contradicts scripture, and I believe that God does not go against his word.
It seems that sickness brings people closer to God, if only they stayed close once those they pray for get sick.
There are many today that try to find the fountain of youth, they spend countless amount of money to stay alive or live long, But Scripture says; Ecclesiastes 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.
;Neither hath he power in the day of death: many today needs to come to grips with this day.
You see with out Jesus You will die and go to Hell, But when you get saved and that appointed time comes, I believe God will veil our eyes, give us what I can express as dieing Grace.
Now I preached different to what I just posted, but the thought has not escaped me, I guess this is why I posted this thought this morning.

THE SEA WAS ANGRY THAT DAY MY FREIND

We had what was probably the scariest time today, I am just glad that I am alive to blog about it today. We decided to go fishing late today, about 2pm to be exact. We got on Bro. Tweets boat with Cindy and off course the kids in Tod's boat, We got to the tree tops and fished a little and caught a few, nothing to brag about. And then the lighting came, and close and very loud. we untied and off we went, we were about 15 miles from the landing so we booked it. Tod was close behind, Then the rain came and it came down hard and thee lighting was fierce, it felt like rocks were being thrown at us, the rain was hard my friend, We could not go to the landing due to the 5 boats ready to get out and so we headed under the Mermetau Bridge for cover. We all tied down and waited, Well the Lighting was getting closer and louder, then a lighting hit a tree about 30 yds from us and the shock wave was loud and hard, we felt the bridge shake and fill with static, one lighting after another, we wuz scared, The rain let up and we headed for the landing and as fast as we could loaded both boats and went to the store in town to get some treats, bad mistake, we were there for a little bit, but enough for what happened next. We saw what was I can only describe as the thickest loudest lighting we have ever seen, and at that they were multiple bolts, I mean "BANG BANG BANG" WE TOOK OFF FOR THE CROSSING OF THE BRIDGE,
Mistake number 2, I didn't mention that Cindy was driving and as we approached the bridge we could see, and then the wind right in the middle of the bridge got so ferocious and the rain came down and hail all at the same time, we could not see nothing, we were in the back seat freaking out, Melinda was so scared," Why you say". because we were in the middle of the road in the pitch white rain and wind and hail, Tweet was yelling get in the side, she was like I cant see, Melinda was like were are the kids, I cant see Tod's truck, I was like Cindy listen to me and get on the side, we couldn't tell if a car or truck was coming on the other side, I from the back had to maneuver the vehicle with left, right , straight, slow down all the way down because I could see the ledge from the back window, We finally made it down and parked for about 20 minutes. needless to say we made it. What a ride.

The 3 day weekend

Had what could be the most packed weekend I have had here in Louisiana. It all started Saturday morning, we went fishing for the first time on a boat. A bass boat that is, Brother Tweet took us and his wife on his boat a Ranger boat with a 150hp and Diana along with John went with Tod on his John boat with a 40hp engine, it was awesome we all caught fish and Diana caught her first bass fish also. it was alot of fun, cant wait to go again. We went with Preacher and Miss Howard to the Pitt Grill were we ate buffet, laterTweet, Cindy and Tod joined us, after that we went to the river just to go park and have fellowship. Sunday was church time and it was good, God gave liberty and the Spirit of God moved. The whole church has been praying for Brother Bob, He had surgery last week on his hernia and it woke up a sleeping giant; Cancer, They found cancer spread to his liver and then crippled him down in ICU, Sunday during church the call came in that the cancer spread to his lungs and went in to organ shut down, after church me and the preacher went to Lafayette, to the hospital and met with the family, We prayed for him and wepted as well, he was able to recognize us and tried to speak to me and preacher, He saw me and called me Big John, broke my heart and prayed for him, I later went to see Brother Dickie who was praying in the chapel and my heart broke for him, Brother Bob was his favorite uncle, I can say that while he was in ICU he was witnessing to other patients and Doctors, He was in touch with the other world though because we heard him calling on Jesus, Just asking him for help, About 5p.m. he went on to be with the Lord. Please pray for his family, he does have children that are wayward and need the Lord. He was married for 3 months so please pray for his wife, she also lost her first husband to cancer and Brother Bobs 1st wife died of cancer too. The children of both sides need much prayer,
Well today ended the 3 day weekend, last week I had mentioned to Brother Steve, the one that plays piano and sings awesome, of the desire I had to take my son John shooting one day. Me and John do not do much together so I figured that this would spark an interest, well Brother Steve asked if we wanted to go with him shooting at the rifle range. We agreed and met today, off course me nor John have a gun but Brother Steve said he would lend us his 22 rifle. He brought a Ethica short 22 rifle that was a single shot, he also brought a pump action 22, it looked like a shotgun, that gun was awesome. and last he brought out a brand new Henry lever action 22 rifle. He taught John John the fundamental of shooting and John took off and did excellent. He shot alot of the targets. He made me proud and so did Brother Steve. Well afterwards as we were getting ready to leave Bro. Steve did an awesome thing, He gave me and John that brand new 22 rifle. Since we have moved to Jennings Brother Steve and his wife has been awesome to us and has blessed my family much, John has even become Sister Sharon's helper Sunday mornings for her before Sunday School. Brother Steve is truly a blessing to my family. And I want to publicly say thank you Brother,
Well this has been my weekend, it was filled with joy, sorrow, sadness, rewarding and Christian life growing.
Please don't forget to pray for the Charpentier Family.

The Lord Helped Me Through It

After 17 years I finally accomplished what I always wanted. I got my G.E.D. I am not sure what my scores are but the lady in the school dept. called and said I have excellent scores. I was expecting a letter in the mail but because she knew that I almost lost my chance to take the test due to work so she called me at work and gave me the good news. I was both excited and emotional that I started to cry. After the test I told my wife I didn't pass because it was so hard. I did do my best and answered to the best of my ability but I was not sure though, but I prayed and I believe that God interceded for me and gave me the ability too retain some knowledge that I learned at my night classes. My wife and daughter encouraged me alot by teaching me some algebra. You know what is so funny is that from th 6th grade till I dropped out in th 11th I never took one class of algebra not even beginners algebra. But thank you Lord for helping me.
I feel like a graduate now and not a drop out. I don't regret having to drop out because I did it to support my new family, but how great it is to finally catch up.
