What a Day
Today was a good day in the House of the Lord. Bro. Howard let rip today, The Holy Spirit just had control today. From the singing to the message it all lined up friend. Man Bro. Steve can play piano and sing his heart out for the Lord. If all goes well I will try to put the Message on this Blog. That old fashioned preaching is it man, none of this watered down mess that is out today.
This is a Picture of my Preacher and his wife, both have been a major influence in my Christian life. I met him back in 2000 and he has been my friend, Pastor, and mentor. Even when he left me in Texas he never let me down. Now 7 years later to serve as his Associate is an honor. It is one thing to love your Pastor but you see with me it is more deep you see I expect him to correct me when I mess up. He has never let me slide, and I appreciate that about him. Most people get close to the pastor and become friends and when it comes to certain things most pastors will let it slide and the next thing you know you got to heads and that is a freak man. I have been accused of having preacher religion along time now and truth be told that is far off, because I would've never left my first or second if that were true because I loved them so much, and they knew I did to. All I ever wanted was a Pastor to teach me and train me up to do right. And till this day I still need it. Having pastored for almost 2 years I tried my best by the Lords leading to do what they have done to me. And that was to train and teach especially to be soul winners after all that is our commission. Whether it stuck or not that was and is between them and God.I still today need that from my Pastor. Teaching Sunday School is awesome it helps me to keep studying and preparing messages because I know and my Pastor knows that in Gods timing He will use me again. I thank God my church is praying for me in that situation and I know they would hate for us to leave and so do I but I am itching friend, but I know it is His timing, I told the church the other day I don't care if its another 3 years of being under Bro. Howard it will be worth it all. I know of 3 churches that need a Pastor and one is in Texas, but I am waiting on God.

My Wife
There is only one woman in my life and she is my wife. She is everything to me and my prayer is I do my best to show her that. Being in the ministry has been great knowing my wife is behind me. I have been her Pastor, husband, and Friend now I am her husband and Friend. But I love it when she says to me you are still my Preacher. She knows that being in the perfect will of God is not only important for me but that it will affect our family. Because they have to follow me. Yesterday marked the 2 year anniversary that we moved here to Louisiana and my family has been with me through the up and downs. Through it all I tried to protect my children from thinking ill on church members even though they lied on me and slandered my name. But my wife has been my hero through it all. She never faltered on God and her Faith in Him. I want to remember this about my wife for as long as God lets us live on this earth till we get home to Heaven. Whether through the door of death or the rapture, not matter what this is my hope.
A Great Truth was Preached this evening

I need this
LORD, PROP US UP ON OUR LEANIN SIDE;After hearing the old man pray that prayer many times, someone asked him why he prayed that prayer so fervently. He answered, 'Well sir, you see, it's like this....I got an old barn out back. It's been there a long time, it's withstood a lot of weather, it's gone through a lot of storms, and it's stood for many years. It's still standing, but one day I noticed it was leaning to one side a bit. So I went and got some pine poles and propped it up on its leaning side so it wouldn't fall.” “Then I got to thinking 'bout that and how much I was like that old barn. I been around a long time, I've withstood a lot of life's storms, I've withstood a lot of bad weather in life, I've withstood a lot of hard times, and I'm still standing too. But I find myself leaning to one side from time to time, so I like to ask the Lord to prop us up on our leaning side, 'cause I figure a lot of us get to leaning, at times.”“Sometime we get to leaning toward anger, leaning toward bitterness, leaning toward hatred, leaning toward cussing, leaning toward a lot of things that we shouldn't, so we need to pray, 'Lord, prop us up on our leaning side,' so we will stand straight and tall again, to glorify the Lord.’ “

Just for laughs
A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe. So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her. The neighbor said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed. The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor boy he knew. She did this for the whole week. As the boys walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally he said to Timmy, "Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week? Do you know her?" Timmy nonchalantly replied, "Yeah, I know who she is." The friend said, "Well, who is she?" "That's just Shirley Goodnest," Timmy replied, "and her daughter Marcy." "Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us? " "Well," Timmy explained, "every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!" The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26) May Shirley Goodnest and Marcy be with you today and always.

Psalm 4 outline on verse 1
I started in Psalm4 this Sunday and got to were this post ends. I will post next weeks message then.
Psalm 4
Oh God of my righteousness
As a child of God we have every right to say this to.
Oh God of my righteousness, we are made right by the blood of Jesus. Not what I did but what He did for me.
This one phrase means literally the right, or from the Hebrew word
qdu tsadaq tsaw-dak'
a primitive root; to be (causatively, make) right (in a moral or forensic sense):--cleanse, clear self, (be, do) just(-ice, -ify, -ify self), (be turn to) righteous(-ness).
David knew God would here because he is a child of God and we to can be heard of God.
Now if you think about that, How awesome is that.
That during our afflictions God will here when we call.
Job 34:28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
Psalms 18:6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
Turn to Lamentation 3:57-58
Lamentations 3:57-58 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not. O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
We all have that day, and when that day comes it can be hard. Oh and each one of our day is that it is our day. What I mean is that when our day comes we get the feeling that nobody knows our pain. And you know what nobody does but you see as a child of God during that day the bible says that God draws near during those days when we call on Him.
When I get sick forget about it I am a mess and my wife will agree, but I know I can call on Him.
And what does God say, Fear not, That is Gods response when we call on Him He will say, Fear not,
John Gill expository of the bible says this
Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee,… When persons draw nigh to God in a way of duty, and particularly in this of prayer, and calling on his name; he draws nigh to them in a way of grace and mercy, and manifests himself to them, and works salvation for them. The Targum is,
"thou didst cause an angel to draw near to deliver me in the day that I prayed unto thee:''
thou saidst, fear not; any of thine enemies; or that thou shouldest not be delivered from them; see Isa 41:10.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
That word Dismayed means: hev sha`ah shaw-aw'
a primitive root; to gaze at or about (properly, for help); by implication, to inspect, consider, compassionate, be nonplussed (as looking around in amazement) or bewildered:--depart, be dim, be dismayed, look (away), regard, have respect, spare, turn.
God is literally saying don’t just stand around and gaze at the situation, looking around in amazement or bewildered,
He is saying, fear not.
He will help thee, uphold thee with His Righteousness.
Not because of what I have done but because that is God. He Loves you and He loves me.
A line upon line on this verse is this:
John Gill's Exposition of the Entire BibleIsa 41:10
Fear thou not, for I am with thee,… Not merely by his essence or power, who is every where; or by his providence supporting, preserving, observing, ordering, and overruling all things; but in a way of special grace, to guard and protect his people, support and supply them, comfort and strengthen their hearts; wherefore they need not fear any of their enemies, nor whatsoever they may be called to suffer for his name's sake, even though they pass through fire and water, and the valley of the shadow of death:
be not dismayed, I am thy God; through Christ, in a covenant way, as appeared by the effectual calling of them; and therefore might depend on his love, be sure of his power, expect all needful supplies, and to be comfortably carried through every service and trial they were called unto; and need fear no enemies, or be dismayed at anything that should befall them; or become weak as water, and their hearts melt like wax within them, as the Jewish commentators generally interpret the word1. The Targum is,
"be not broken;''
in spirit. The word signifies to look about, as persons in distress, and amazed:
I will strengthen thee; with strength in their souls, to perform duties, exercise grace, withstand corruptions, resist temptations, bear afflictions, suffer persecutions, and do their generation work, according to the will of God; and if God is the strength of his people, they need not be afraid of any persons or things, Ps 27:1,
yea, I will help thee; help them out of all their afflictions and temptations, and out of the hands of all their enemies; help them in the discharge of duty, in the exercise of grace, in bearing the cross, in fighting the Lord's battles, and in their journey to another world; help them to every mercy, temporal and spiritual, to all needful supplies of grace, and at last to glory; whose help is suitable and seasonable, and may be expected, since he is able to help, either with or without means; has promised to help his people, as here, and he is faithful that has promised; he has laid help on one that is mighty, and set up a throne of grace to come to for help in time of need; and seeing he is their helper, they need not fear what men or devils can do unto them, Heb 13:5.
I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness; either by his almighty power, or by his Son, the man of his right hand, made strong for himself, and the author of righteousness to his people: this is expressive of his sustentation of them, not merely in a providential way, but in a way of special grace; and of his powerful protection and preservation of them, so as that they shall stand in the grace of God, go on in his ways, and not fall finally and totally, but persevere to the end, though their trials and temptations may be great and many.

In prayer we have fellowship with God
1Sa 14:36
And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.

Jas 4:8
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
It is the duty for the child of God to ask of Him. If you are right with God we can ask.
De 4:29
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Ps 27:8
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Ps 105:4
Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
Isa 55:6
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
1. So in the Jerusalem Talmud, as quoted by Abendana on the place,
"seek the Lord, where he is found, in the synagogues, and in the schools; call upon him, where he is near, in the synagogues, and in the schools.''
And so another Jewish writer, mentioned by him, interprets the words,
"whilst the Shechinah is found in the sanctuary; before he hides his face, and causes his Shechinah to remove from you.''
It was important for the jews to seek God. Why is it not so for us. They were afraid that the Shechinah would not fill the temple again, so I ask why don’t we. Do you want to feel the presences of the Lord or cold worship. It is not because the preaching is cold but your attitude when you came in today.
Listen to what Bro. Gill writes;
John Gill's Exposition of the Entire BibleIsa 55:6
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found,… The Lord is to be sought unto at all times, whenever the people of God meet together, especially on sabbath days, and while the external ministry of the word lasts, and life itself; so the Targum,
"seek the fear of the Lord, while ye are alive.''
Kimchi compares it with Ec 9:10. The Jewish writers, as Aben Ezra and others, generally interpret it before the sealing of the decree, or before the decree is gone forth. It may be understood of place, as well as time, and be rendered, "seek the Lord in the place where he may be found"1; God is to be found, as Aben Ezra observes, in all places, and at all times; under the Old Testament there was a particular place appointed for the worship of God, the tabernacle and temple, where he was to be sought unto, and might be found; under the New Testament, all places are alike, and wherever the church and people of God meet together, there he is to be sought, and there he may be found, even in his house and ordinances:
call ye upon him while he is near; the same thing designed by different words: seeking and calling design not only prayer, but the whole of public worship, and the time and place when and where the Lord is to be found, and is near. Aben Ezra thinks it refers to the Shechinah in the sanctuary. Perhaps it may have some respect to the time of Christ's incarnation, and his being in the land of Judea; and to the destruction of the temple by the Romans, when the Lord could be no more sought unto, and found in that place; or when the Christians were obliged to move from Jerusalem, because of the siege of it; and when the Jews had no more an opportunity of hearing the Gospel there.

Call Unto Me
> Cherokee Legend
>
Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage?
>
His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone.
>
He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.
>
He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.
>
The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!
>
Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.
>
We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, our Heavenly Father is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.

The Battles They Won Made It Possible....
Subject: True story
Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a social studies schoolteacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock, did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks from her classroom. When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no desks.Looking around, confused, they asked, "Ms. Cothren, where's our desks?" She replied, "You can't have a desk until you tell me what you have done to earned the right to sit at a desk."They thought, "Well, maybe it's our grades.""No," she said."Maybe it's our behavior."She told them, "No, it's not even your behavior."And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom. By early afternoon television news crews had started gathering in Ms.Cothren's classroom to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room. The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the deskless classroom, MarthaCothren said,"Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he/she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you."At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it. Twenty-seven (27) U.S.Veterans, all in uniforms, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall.By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.Martha said, "You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now, it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it."BTW this is a true story....If you can read this,Thank a teacher If you read it in English Thank a soldier

Whats In A Hero
I can remember growing up I had plenty of heroes but none like my heroes of Faith. What I mean by Hero of Faith is the Faith I have seen in them towards God even through situations and circumstances, it is during these times do our trust in God become an affect. One of these heroes is Bro Howard my Pastor, mentor, Friend and spiritual father. This man has done more for me then I could ever repay, but yet he is aways there for me. I trust this man to correct me when I am going astray and to guide me in all spiritual matters. I think the message he preached that I was not present but yet heard on tape was on Sticking By The Stuff, biblical separation and abstaining from all appearances of evil was what he preached on and he still lives it,this is why i love this man not just because he is my pastor but how he lives it. We all have pastors but I don't have to worry about him compromising and listening to no country music or other ungodly thing. Other men I have as heroes of faith men like Bro. Allen, Bro. Janew, Bro. Pope and men who have gone on to Glory. Not because of there messages or how they preach but how they over came adversity. But you see there is one though who is my personal hero, and that is my wife. I have seen her go through many trails and yet because she takes Gods promises literal she does not wobble on the fence. Through back surgery and an another surgery that hurts her still today she is believing trusting and committed to the Lord. Lately I haven't seen her much due to her work and mine but it is on Sunday were we can worship the God that keeps His promises together. I love my wife and I know she loves me.
(Lord I pray that you give her strength during these days and comfort her as you have aways done)

The New Job
God still answers prayers. in 2 weeks I start my new Job. I have been praying that if it be His will I could get a job that was Mon.- Fri. and 8-5, well The prayer was heard and I almost lost the opportunity due to miscommunication. All went well and instead of the maintenance job I was getting my new boss said it would be a waste for me to work that department even though it was the job I was applying for. Instead I will be working the shipping and receiving and other positions that would benefit me and company. My main position is receiving. and it is a 8 to 5 Mon.-Fri. It will be perfect Because I will be in town and there for Melinda when she closes. And I will be focusing more on the church and the bus ministry we will be starting. I almost feel bad leaving Oreilly Auto Parts because it feels good to help people with there vehicle and other engine parts from mowers, compressors, generators, and man it was good to learn about hitches and wiring. It is amazing how helpful it is for a customer who doesn't know have someone who knows. I give God all the glory because He allowed me to learn so much in these last 8 months. And I am still waiting for my leather jacket that I won. Thank you Lord for all that you did for me at Oreilly.

One Nation forgetting
The “Pledge of Allegiance” was first published in 1892 and was widely recited in schools soon thereafter. It has been amended several times, and the most recent revision came in 1954 with the addition of the phrase “under God” following the words “one nation.” This addition grew out of a desire to include a reference to Deity in keeping with the beliefs of America’s founding fathers. The phrase “under God” was aptly chosen because Abraham Lincoln reportedly used the expression, “this Nation under God,” in his immortal “Gettysburg Address.” For several decades, students in public schools all over America have recited the pledge with the words “under God.” Now those words are under legal attack. The Pledge: One Nation Under God teaches Americans not to regard their freedoms lightly and eloquently echoes the words of Thomas Jefferson: “THE GOD WHO GAVE US LIFE GAVE US LIBERTY.”
Madalyn Murray O’Hair is the one atheist who by the way is dead, lead the way to get God and the Bible out of school. But it is awsome to know that her son; William J. Murray is working hard today to make sure that they dont mess with our pledge of allegence. He has personally helped to bring the Gospel to Sudan, Darfur, Kosovo, Serbia, China, and the Middle East, and the Soviet Union.
The devil is fighting hard but men like this and others are making a difference.

I wonder what happened
It is amazing to me how weak knee christian some have become. Popularity has become more important then the convictions you used to have. You have to ask 1 year ago how was I, did I stray this far. Hey whether it was from the 40s,50s,70s,80s,90s, it is still not of Gods. Maybe the god of this world. Oh and do we wink at it because they are my buddies, A man at my church wanted me so bad to talk with his Friend at my new job so bad because he knew that he could sin the sin unto death. (oh by the way that is in the bible, do you wink at that also and pray a little pray and ask God convict them.) this guy witnessed to him and led him to the Lord got him to church but the other friends influenced him to go back to the partying. this Brother prayed that I would talk to him. He even knew that after awhile he had to separate from him. but never stopped praying. God gave me liberty to talk to him for 2 hours and God made that no customers came in the store. HEY GOD IS STILL ON THE THRONE PEOPLE!!!! or did you forget. This guy was in tears with repentance. What if I did what you do and say Or Pray God please help him to see. Get over yourself. Hell is to hot for you to just blow it off. Do you know that 3.2 billion people have never heard the gospel. they might know that there is a god out there but they don't know Him. Just going to church ain't cutting it friend. we have a commission, hey those on visitation aren't the only ones going to hell .. those around you to.. even the buddies. Do you ever think about those in hell. Especially the ones that don't know why they are there. It is one thing to hear the gospel and reject it but to never to have heard it and go to hell. those that do when they die and open up there eyes in hell are freaking out. I know what you are thinking hey the rich man knew why he was in hell, and Lazarus wasn't, you are so holier than me... The rich man knew because he rejected God. he knew who Abraham was and the Prophets...What about those today int he 10-40 gap of this world who have never heard of Jesus ever..... Oh wait I know; you think well that ain't my fault, you are right but God wont wink at your ignorance knowing that you know. i give my faith promise to but are you so proud of it, proud of what you can give. you might not be called to be a missionary neither am I but are you really doing all you can, Have you prayed for those missionary's, and no not just when it is mentioned in church i mean in your prayer life. pray for those that are called and actually go. remember you used to get upset with those do nothing missionarys and now what. Hey Help Me Lord! .....old fashioned used to mean something to.
Magnum P.I.
Well under the thought of suspicion myself and my wife staked out her job last night due to the fact that as we went in before her store closed the 2 closing workers had 4 baskets and totes loaded with merchandise. We parked across the street and watched them bag everything in bags and loaded a car with stuff. My wife went in to comfront, oh by the way I stayed in the car in case they started beating her so I could leave and get help (j.k), Well one got defensive and left and the other left but later called back to admit that the other stole but not her which wasnt true but oh well. This place is crazy and it seems hard to find workers. Since my wife took the assistant manager job her manager quit the third person under the totem pole quit got a second chance then quit again and now this. One wasnt even from her store but came and helped worked but helped her self instead. As of today the Heathen are still raging.

My Princess
Today after Sunday night services our church surprised my wife with a birthday party. It was great and they served her favorite food and mine by the way. We even tried some new stuff too some kind of pasta salad, Yummy. These are some pics of the party and as you can see I even tried to do the robot. Oh and the reason for the crown and scepter is because my wife is a Princess, and a little boy named David in Texas will fight you if you disagree. Oh and by the way that is me trying to do the robot.
It was a good day
My Pastor preached a mean message today and it was good. He preached out of 2 Peter 3:3-4 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
You know it is so true though, many mock at God and His people. Everywhere you look it seem like it is getting more wicked. I like how God worked both Sunday School and Main service together. I am really enjoying beening Bro. Buddy's Associate Pastor, I don't know how long God will keep me here but I will enjoy every minute I got with Calvary Baptist.
The Heathen Rage
Today I start teaching on Psalm 2 and just the 1st verse gets me going. It is amazing how things are going to pot. But why do I complain and do nothing. I am a Christian and yet I fail. I am a Christian Yet that what I should do I find my self not doing. Then let us do that which we are commanded. God said Whom shall I send, Isaiah said here am I Lord. Then Isaiah said; How long Lord? And Gods response was until the cities be wasted without inhabitant. So while there are people lets us go. Why such a rant, well because the heathen rage.

BEST LAWYER STORY OF THE YEAR, DECADE AND PROBABLY THE CENTURY. A Charlotte, North Carolina lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against, among other things, fire. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars and without yet having made even his first premium payment on the policy the lawyer filed claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost "in a series of small fires." The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued.. and WON! (Stay with me.) Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company! that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer "held a policy from the company which it had warranted that t he cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable fire" and was obligated to pay the claim. Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the cigars lost in the "fires". NOW FOR THE BEST PART.. After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine. This is a true story and was the First Place winner in the recent Criminal Lawyers Award Contest. ONLY IN AMERICA! NO WONDER THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES THINK AMERICANS ARE NUTS
