Who's right!

Let create in your mind a scenario, I am on the highway going to Lafayette, the posted speed is 70 mph. Now it doesn't say 70 mph on the right lane only but on the highway period. Whether you are on the left or the right there is only one speed. So why then does Melinda tell me to get out of the fast lane when others are obviously upset with my defensive driving. I mean I am going the speed limit but as people pass me the give the a look as though I am breaking the speed law. Melinda says that's the fast lane. Then does that mean when I get pulled over and the officer says," Do you know how fast you were gong? and my response can be this, "But officer I was on the fast lane, what does it matter how fast I was going." Now tell me do you think he will let me off. I don't think so. So you see there is no fast lane. there is just but the one highway with the posted speed limit. Now if by law I am wrong prove it. But by law you cant, you will just give me what tradition says, It is the fast lane. No sir.
Today before my eyes I saw what happens when a John as Melinda puts it, is driving the speed limit on the so called fast lane. This guy was getting people mad, and off course my wife is saying get out of the way John, referring to the driver not me. I thought it was kind of funny though. But people were breaking and riding his bumper, but yet he held his stand and never gave up the spot. You see other people though I don't know them feel the same as me. there is no fast lane, just 2 lanes.
So with that I start this year with, Lets just drive the posted speed limit.
I do have to say that this might come back and bite me though.

There are signs that say slower traffic keep right but thats for people going slower then the speed limit. the left lane is really just a pass up lane. Billy

LOL! Yup that is you going slow on the fast lane. Well when we were going to Oklahoma and Debbie was following us, we were both going 70, but yet we were still going faster. My husband said it was cuz our tires were bigger or something like that. So those people are probably going the same speed limit, but it's just different in that way. I don't know sounded good when I was typing it :P

it is called the fast lane, not really a law unless your impeding traffic in case of an emergency, but most off all its called COMMON COURTESY, yes Mrs Daisy I be driving.

I will remind you that in case of emergency is quite not often on the so called fast lane, only in the right lane are yo supose to merge to left incase some one is pulled over or has a flat tire. but sometimes it is hard to be curteous when people are zipping by on the left lane that you cant move over and then boom a accident,

isnt it the passing lane? so you could go a little faster then the speed limit when passing someone. then get back to the "slow" lane.

Preacher, You are very right. As a former law enforcement officer I NEVER gave a ticket to someone who was doing the speed limit in the "Fast Lane". I think that this goes very close to our Christian lives as well. All too often we speed through this life when we should be doing the speed limit. You see, if we do the speed limit in life you might reach a soul that others have "passed" by. I just found your page today, but am really enjoying it. As the Law of the land says we must follow it, never let us forget that we have a LAW BOOK "The Holy Bible" that we should follow also. I think we ALL, including myself, need to slow down in our lives. I would hate to know that I missed an opprotunity to share the GRACE of my LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, because I was going too fast. God Bless You For This Page, Justin Coppett
