What an awful thought that our family and Friends will be there.
But hey you are saved and that's all that matters anyways right.
Or will you convince that person to repeat after you and tell them they are OK but yet never see no conversion.
Or maybe they need to here what some believe is the recordings of Hell.

In life that question seems to be aways asked. Think about it how many times can you think of the times you were asked are you ready. As a child we heard that many times. But as adults we always are the one asking. God asked me if I was ready, My response to Him was yes but then He asked is your family ready. There is one thing about Pastoring I take very highly, and that is accountability. Being accountable to the people we Pastor. I can say one thing positive about my first church, They heard.
Isaiah 6:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
I never heard that; was told by many there. Many people are preached at but not taught. I still remember when Ms. Bernadine came to visit and she took me in to the church after Sunday Morning and I can tell she was burdened down. She like many have told me, I don't know I don't know. She knew she was lost but couldn't pray. I kept telling her you can you can and she wouldn't, I mean God was heavy that day with conviction on Ms. Bird (as I would call her) I remember thinking no not her, let her God get saved, I literally felt her crossing the line of no remedy. After I called my wife in to talk to her While I prayed I remember that the Holy Spirit had finally convinced her she could and Asked Jesus to be her Lord. It was wonderful. I still remember the message I preached that morning and had 2 saved that morning Ms Bird made 3.
I remember that night thinking people need to hear the truth. That night I preached with much fervency and had 2 more get saved that night. I haven't spoke much with Ms Bird since then but if you ask her today she can tell you what she told us; I am saved! I have been told by many and even my close friend's that I have no compassion, but God knows me. I will still preached as though it is my last.

I was lost
I don't remember much but I do remember waking up one morning dreaming about God and the Book of I or II Corinthians was all I could remember. I called Melinda At her work and explained to her what I had dreamed though it was not much. She did tell me to call the Pastor and so I did. I quite don't remember the conversation but I do know I couldn't wait to go to church. I had just been attending 1 week and was excited to hear the preaching. Till this day I still cant wait to hear the preaching.
Back up a few years and I can remember picking oranges in Florida as a child. I think I was 6 or 8 and I could hear someone preaching the gospel. I was told then it was Hells Fire Preaching, I didn't understand then what that meant but I knew I liked it. I can even remember saying that I wanted to do that then. I even told my mom when I was 10 I wanted to be a priest. Doing something for God then was all I wanted, when the nuns would visit I would tell my mom to ask then if I could be a alter boy. I was lost then but I wanted to do something for God. As the years past I would always make sure church was a part of me. I would even go to summer camps to feel near God. Once as a teenager I read a chick track and I do remember praying that prayer. It was then that I first heard of Hell and dying. For years I would fear dying and not knowing where I was going. Every day it seemed I thought about it. I was so scared. Scared enough that I would get so paranoid. I would lay down and tremble and feel every thing shrinking around me and things going fast. I sometimes would sit on the toilet and cry wondering what do I do.
Fast forward to Aug. 12 1998. It was on that day that I heard the sweetest story ever told, A true story how a King would leave Glory to be born of a virgin live a sinless perfect life and that it was on that tree he died for me. I don't remember much that night, but I do remember asking Jesus to save me.
Dec. 1st 2007, I still think of dying, and some days more that others but you see there is a difference now. I have a place prepared for me. There will be no pain there no more sorrow no more tears to dim the eye, no more parting over there, no more fear of dying for then I have arrived. You see when I die it will be Jesus I will see.
I am saved today. I am a Christian, God has seen me fit to call me to preach and for that I am humbled. I fail Him sometimes, but hey He knew that already.

An Old message I preached about a year ago
ASK FOR THE OLD PATHS--Jeremiah 6:16
Intro: The days of Jeremiah's ministry to the people of Israel were days of deep spiritual wickedness. The people had sinned against God to the point where He was ready to give them up into captivity. And, in fact, they did go into captivity in just a few short years. Yet, even while they perched on the edge of judgment, the Lord desires to see them turn back to Him.
In this verse, we are given the image of a traveler who come to a fork in the road. He has the opportunity to go anyway he desires, but God tells him to ask for the "old paths, where is the good way". Instead of just traveling blindly on, this traveler is to stop an ask directions.
Of course, this is all in a religious context. The Lord wants His people to travel the right path. He wants them on a path that will lead them in His direction. While this word of correction was spoken to the Jews many years ago, there is a lesson in this verse for the modern church this evening.
It is my opinion that the Lord would still have His people to ask for the old paths. We must be sure we are walking the path which God has ordained, the one that He can bless, the one that honors Him.
I. A REQUIREMENT
A. The command that God is issuing to His people is for them not to allow themselves to be lead astray by the false prophets and leaders of their day. They are to look at men like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and others who walked the path of obedience and holiness before the Lord and they are to seek that path for themselves.
B. God's command is that they not just go anyway, but that they take the time to find the right path, that old, well-worn path that represents the best way.
C. So many in our day are leading millions off into Hell because they are changing some of the road signs of the faith. Allow me to share a few of the road signs that are being changed in our day.
1. Salvation Through The Blood –
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
2. Belief In The Scriptures –
I Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Psa. 119:89. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. (Ill. 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 41,173 verses; 774,746 words; 3,566,480 letters in the Bible. It is every ounce the infallible, inerrant, inspired Word of God.)
3. Love For The Church –
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
4. The Reality Of Heaven And Hell-
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
5. The Value Of The Human Soul –
Mark 8:36-37 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
6. The Soon Return Of Jesus -
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
7. The Holiness Of God -We try to bring God down to man's level. He is holy –
Isaiah 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
II. A REWARD
A. God's promise to those who walk in His paths is that they will find rest for our souls. That is, in His paths, we can be assured of three great truths.
1. One, we can be sure that we will arrive at the proper destination! When we take the Lord's highway, we can be sure that it will end in His presence!
2. Two, we can travel in safety knowing that the Lord is guarding our way. Not only will we end up where we want to be, but we will get there in the safest, most peaceful manner possible.
3. We can know that while we are on the Lord's path, the deepest needs of our soul will be met! There will be fellowship with Him and joy in His presence at the end of the way!
B. However, those who fail to ask for the old paths will find themselves walking in the ways of destruction and misery. When we turn our backs on the way God has chosen as the right way we will find that the way is difficult, there is no peace or safety and the destination is ever in question. There is a reward for those who will walk in the Lord's pathway!
III. A REFUSAL
A. This text tells us that some decided that they would not walk in the Lord's will and in the Lord's path. The results of their choice is chastisement and destruction, v. 17-30. There is a high price to pay for refusing to walk in the Lord's will!
B. We are living in a day when many are refusing to walk in the old paths. Either the old way is too narrow, or they feel that God just doesn't know that what He is talking about. Yet, no matter what the world does, let us, the people of the Lord, stand tall in the old way. Let us be unashamed of who we are. Let us hold our heads high and walk in the way God has ordained without apology and without backing down. Let us be everything the Lord commanded us to be in His Word, 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Conc: The old way isn't the popular way! It is being abandoned daily by people who have decided that new is better. They are leaving the Bible, the old songs of the faith, old fashioned worship, praising the Lord, and preaching. Seeker services are replacing old time worship of the Lord.
Yet, God has not changed, Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. I can find no room to change myself. I think I'll ask for the old paths and walk in them. How about you? The enemies are changing the signs, but the Lord will knows the way. Let's ask Him and He will lead.

How To Get The Most Out Of Reading Your Bible
1. You must be saved.
a. You must have the author in you to teach you what you are reading. Who is that author? The Holy Spirit. I Cor. 2:14
2. You must have a sincere desire to know the word of God.
a. God wrote the bible to reveal His will to man kind.
b. David said, "More to be desired" Psalm 19:10. Job said,"More in His word than that of food" Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
3. You must have a deep reverence for God.
a. Romans 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
b. fear: fear should be defined as, Oh God I am afraid to offend you.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
4. You must learn to depend on the Holy Spirit.
a. Praying to the Holy Ghost before reading.
2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Learn to depend on the author(Holy Spirit)
5. You must be willing to do the will of God before you find it.
a. Submission is the attitude, Submission is the Key, Knowledge is the guide.
b. Are you willing to do what the Holy Spirit tells you or will you quench Him again.

I Love My Country And The Men That Serve IT!
Then there was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break one of the French engineers came back into the room saying "Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?"A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: "Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?"Once again, dead silence. *****************
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, 'whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.' He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied 'Maybe its because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'You could have heard a pin drop!

And Moses Prayed
Moses lost the blessing of leading the children of Israel into the promised land due to disobedience and compromise. But who else can it be said of God holding a personal funeral and burial.

Broken
A couple days ago I was on Gtalk with my Brother Jay looking for this song I had forgotten about. I first heard the song in the church I got saved in and later because I too was an Elvis fan heard him sing the song in his gospel CD I used to own and later thru away. Well I came across this pic and it reminded me of when Jesus spoke about the pharisee and the publican..Luke 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
The reason I remembered that song was because during the song service in church The Trio was singing this song and it reminded me of the song I heard years ago. Our pianist had the song in her song book but I couldn't remember how it went. Well to make a long story short we found the song. Elvis sang a short version of it but, I found a singer other than Elvis to hear it which is a Gospel singer not a country, rock, rap, pop, I'll make a gospel to ease my conscious but yet make there money on that worldly garbage. Brother Bob one of our deacons at the church got up and sang it Sunday night during our Revival. This song is awesome one day I told Brother Steve if we could sing it together. Brother Steve is a blessing he plays Piano by ear but I am telling you he is good, God has blessed him with a gift. One Sunday before choir practice Brother Steve was playing what I thought was Amazing Grace in a lower key and I jumped in and started singing and man I cant sing. (just a joyful noise), Anyways as I was ranting the song is Where No One Stands Alone, And this pic reminds me of the song and the sight I found it on has the words and this pic to it. It is Elvis singing though and I don't recommend you hear it. The Best place I heard it was at church and the first place I ever heard it was back in 98 in church. I still remember that night. I remember everything.......any ways the song is great. If you can play piano find the words and the music and learn it and play it all the time. I can only hum it. My dad and Jay I could always count on to find something or remember a certain song or name. I remember At work years ago I couldn't remember Rosco's dog name in the Dukes of hazard, we at work were going crazy. I called Jay but he couldn't remember and then I called my dad he said it with out hesitation. I am blessed to have a great brother and a one of kind dad. (I love you dad, I know you don't read this dad but I do love you) I remember when I Got saved I told my family and was ridiculed and told not to talk to them about God, it hurt so much, But I prayed. I prayed that they would get saved and I still pray that today. I would prayed that My brother Jay would get saved because I knew that maybe he could get to dad, Well Jay is saved now and I leave this matter up to God. When I lead you to the Lord and directed you to a church, I prayed that you would learn of God, I did what was done to me, I left you to that Under shepherd to train you.

Texas: Some call it Gods Country, I call it TEXAS
Now this I know is a Doe, and a nice pic too.
These are pics of Horseshoe Lake, it is the place I spent most of my youth fishing. I also got on my first boat in this lake also.
It was a good day, Pastor was up to Par..
Verse 1
Crying unto God
a. Have you ever cried unto God?
Many times now this week I have cried in prayer to God, concerning my dad. But I thank God we can cry unto God.
Just as David hear is asking God to give heed to his prayers or to mark well.
In this prayer it is as David is calling unto God as if he is lost.
What I mean is do you know what one does immediately when found to be lost? We start yelling aloud.
Or when a child gets lost they start yelling in agony. But the thing is this the lost child directs his call to one person and that is mommy.
Well this is the point David is making in 2. His focus is on God.
2 Chronicles 14:11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.
I wonder where your direction is, or what is the direction of your life?
David’s direction was heavenward.
Let me ask you another Question. Where was Stephens’s direction when he was in distress? Now remember he was beening beaten and stoned. He was Looking unto heaven.
Not first heaven nor the 2nd, but he pierced through to the 3rd heaven. Now he being full of the Holly Ghost saw Jesus.
Acts 7:55-56 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Oh Stephen said,” Behold” In other words he is saying,” Do you see what I see, I see the Heavens Opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God.
In distress he was looking unto Jesus.
David said I will look up.
Verses 4 – 6
We see that sin is hated and hateful.
Deuteronomy 25:16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Do you know what an abomination or the definition of the word is? Now Biblical, the word and it new dictionaries have down played many words today.
It is something that is disgusting in the sight of God. In the sight of God.
David displeased the Lord once.
2 Samuel 11:27 And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.
In our daily Christian walk how many times have we really displeased God.
Some have a hard time with sin because they don’t want to give it up.
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Scripture is very clear what to do concerning living a separated life.
And it is very unfortunate that to some or most it isn’t popular amongst Baptist churches or people.
How do we live a life most pleasing to God, well #1 is?
1. Lay aside:
let us lay aside every weight; or burden; every sin, which is a weight and burden to a sensible sinner, and is an hinderance in running the Christian race; not only indwelling sin, but every actual transgression, and therefore to be laid aside; as a burden, it should be laid on Christ; as a sin, it should be abstained from, and put off, with respect to the former conversation: also worldly cares, riches, and honours, when immoderately pursued, are a weight depressing the mind to the earth, and a great hinderance in the work and service of God, and therefore to be laid aside; not that they are to be entirely rejected, and not cared for and used, but the heart should not be set upon them, or be over anxious about them: likewise the rites and ceremonies of Moses's law were a weight and burden, a yoke of bondage, and an intolerable one, and with which many believing Jews were entangled and pressed, and which were a great hinderance in the performance of evangelical worship; wherefore the exhortation to these Hebrews, to lay them aside, was very proper and pertinent, since they were useless and incommodious, and there had been a disannulling of them by Christ, because of their weakness and unprofitableness. Some observe, that the word here used signifies a tumour or swelling; and so may design the tumour of pride and vain glory, in outward privileges, and in a man's own righteousness, to which the Hebrews were much inclined; and which appears in an unwillingness to stoop to the cross, and bear afflictions for the sake of the Gospel; all which is a great enemy to powerful godliness, and therefore should be brought down, and laid aside.
In the book of Hebrews Paul delt heavily with the Jews because they at times took old worship and tried to blend it with Christianity. This is the weight that hindered true worship.
To lay aside is the action needed for the putting away of the weight. We may know the way but don’t take the forward step towards the goal.
The convictions I have today are not the ones I got when I first got saved. It took some laying aside.
My willingness to serve God as pleasing to Him took my actions.
2. The weight: The weight is what is the load we carry.
On a side note there is something you need to leave to God. You are carrying a load you can’t handle.
That weight is a hindrance to your race.
What God wants us to see is this?
a. There is a hinderance
b. That is what causes the beseting.
Now read the scripture again;
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
c. Now to explain what easily besets us.
(Illustrate about how a racer can get distracted and be caught standing around)
d. A racer who is focused has only one thing in mind, the prize.
e. To beset is to be left behind standing.
f. When we as Christians refuse to lay aside that sin will be left behind standing.
g. What ever the weight lay it aside.
h. We have a due reward, how do you want to be left standing before the Lord at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

With a Heavy Hart
Hardest thing my dad ever told me was; I will do it my way.
1. The first thing I want to mention is found in Isaiah
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
When my father told me what he did this verse came to mind.
Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord; the ways which God prescribes and directs men to walk in are different from theirs; his are holy, theirs unholy; his are plain, theirs crooked; his are ways of light, theirs ways of darkness; his are pleasant, theirs not so, at least in the issue; his lead to life, theirs to death; and therefore there is good reason why they should leave their evil ways, and walk in his. Moreover, the ways which he takes in the salvation of men are different from those which they, naturally pursue, and especially in the pardon of sin; he pardons freely, fully, without any reserve, or private grudge, forgetting as well as forgiving.
2. You know there are many ways. But there is but one way.
There is the divine way.
Psalms 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Psalms 145:17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
Hosea 14:9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
Revelation 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
Several things I know and that is this; no matter what God is just and true.
When those 2 things come into play this verse comes alive to me.
Psalms 85:10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
3. There have been some in the bible that have tried there way and it fails.
a. The prodigal son, Luke 15:11
b. Ananias and Sapphira Acts 5:1
c. King Agrippa
Acts 26:28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
Acts 26:29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
Paul here had a desire for this man to be saved.
1. It is amazing that many would be like Agrippa
2. Many will hear but not all will hearken to the call to repentance.
Paul said I would to God, he here is saying; if only ever time I gave the gospel all would be converted.
The bible is very clear it is whosoever will, that means my dad has the choice.
Agrippa paid for it with his due reward, Hell. He is still there today.
d. Felix was given the opportunity and said this:
Acts 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
1. Our way is to wait but God said today is the time;
Luke 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house,…..
e. Jonas thought that his way would be right but God had plans for Nineveh
f. David thought of ways to deceive and conceal his sin with Bathsheba
My dad scared me yesterday, when he said he would do it his way.
Something as a child of God I don’t want to see is loved ones seek another way.
Jesus said in Matthew that strait is the gate
Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
I believe many men are striving for the goals in life, so go about never reaching the mark.
And I am afraid some die never knowing how close to the way they were.
Aug. 12, 1998 is when I was spiritually striving.
And I found it though Jesus Christ and Him alone, it was then He became Lord of my life.
Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
It was on this date that I got saved and found the way.
Jesus said it Him self;
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I am the Way - That leads so the Father: - the Truth that teaches the knowledge of God, and directs in the way: - the Life that animates all those who seek and serve him, and which is to be enjoyed eternally at the end of the way.
Christ is the Way:
1. By his doctrine, Joh 6:68.
2. By his example, 1Pe 2:21.
3. By his sacrifice, Heb 9:8, Heb 9:9.
4. By his Spirit, Joh 16:13.
He is the Truth:
1. In opposition to all false religions.
2. To the Mosaic law, which was only the shadow, not the truth or substance, of the good things which were to come. And
3. In respect to all the promises of God, 2Co 1:20.
He is the Life, both in grace and glory; the life that not only saves from death, but destroys it.
No man cometh unto the Father - By any other doctrine, by any other merit, or by any other intercession than mine.
My Heart is heavy today. And the prayers can’t stop till dad gets saved.
Do I believe he will get saved, do you?
Paul said it, I would to God that all that hear.

Psalm 4 outline on verse 1
Oh God of my righteousness
As a child of God we have every right to say this to.
Oh God of my righteousness, we are made right by the blood of Jesus. Not what I did but what He did for me.
This one phrase means literally the right, or from the Hebrew word
qdu tsadaq tsaw-dak'
a primitive root; to be (causatively, make) right (in a moral or forensic sense):--cleanse, clear self, (be, do) just(-ice, -ify, -ify self), (be turn to) righteous(-ness).
David knew God would here because he is a child of God and we to can be heard of God.
Now if you think about that, How awesome is that.
That during our afflictions God will here when we call.
Job 34:28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
Psalms 18:6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
Turn to Lamentation 3:57-58
Lamentations 3:57-58 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not. O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
We all have that day, and when that day comes it can be hard. Oh and each one of our day is that it is our day. What I mean is that when our day comes we get the feeling that nobody knows our pain. And you know what nobody does but you see as a child of God during that day the bible says that God draws near during those days when we call on Him.
When I get sick forget about it I am a mess and my wife will agree, but I know I can call on Him.
And what does God say, Fear not, That is Gods response when we call on Him He will say, Fear not,
John Gill expository of the bible says this
Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee,… When persons draw nigh to God in a way of duty, and particularly in this of prayer, and calling on his name; he draws nigh to them in a way of grace and mercy, and manifests himself to them, and works salvation for them. The Targum is,
"thou didst cause an angel to draw near to deliver me in the day that I prayed unto thee:''
thou saidst, fear not; any of thine enemies; or that thou shouldest not be delivered from them; see Isa 41:10.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
That word Dismayed means: hev sha`ah shaw-aw'
a primitive root; to gaze at or about (properly, for help); by implication, to inspect, consider, compassionate, be nonplussed (as looking around in amazement) or bewildered:--depart, be dim, be dismayed, look (away), regard, have respect, spare, turn.
God is literally saying don’t just stand around and gaze at the situation, looking around in amazement or bewildered,
He is saying, fear not.
He will help thee, uphold thee with His Righteousness.
Not because of what I have done but because that is God. He Loves you and He loves me.
A line upon line on this verse is this:
John Gill's Exposition of the Entire BibleIsa 41:10
Fear thou not, for I am with thee,… Not merely by his essence or power, who is every where; or by his providence supporting, preserving, observing, ordering, and overruling all things; but in a way of special grace, to guard and protect his people, support and supply them, comfort and strengthen their hearts; wherefore they need not fear any of their enemies, nor whatsoever they may be called to suffer for his name's sake, even though they pass through fire and water, and the valley of the shadow of death:
be not dismayed, I am thy God; through Christ, in a covenant way, as appeared by the effectual calling of them; and therefore might depend on his love, be sure of his power, expect all needful supplies, and to be comfortably carried through every service and trial they were called unto; and need fear no enemies, or be dismayed at anything that should befall them; or become weak as water, and their hearts melt like wax within them, as the Jewish commentators generally interpret the word1. The Targum is,
"be not broken;''
in spirit. The word signifies to look about, as persons in distress, and amazed:
I will strengthen thee; with strength in their souls, to perform duties, exercise grace, withstand corruptions, resist temptations, bear afflictions, suffer persecutions, and do their generation work, according to the will of God; and if God is the strength of his people, they need not be afraid of any persons or things, Ps 27:1,
yea, I will help thee; help them out of all their afflictions and temptations, and out of the hands of all their enemies; help them in the discharge of duty, in the exercise of grace, in bearing the cross, in fighting the Lord's battles, and in their journey to another world; help them to every mercy, temporal and spiritual, to all needful supplies of grace, and at last to glory; whose help is suitable and seasonable, and may be expected, since he is able to help, either with or without means; has promised to help his people, as here, and he is faithful that has promised; he has laid help on one that is mighty, and set up a throne of grace to come to for help in time of need; and seeing he is their helper, they need not fear what men or devils can do unto them, Heb 13:5.
I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness; either by his almighty power, or by his Son, the man of his right hand, made strong for himself, and the author of righteousness to his people: this is expressive of his sustentation of them, not merely in a providential way, but in a way of special grace; and of his powerful protection and preservation of them, so as that they shall stand in the grace of God, go on in his ways, and not fall finally and totally, but persevere to the end, though their trials and temptations may be great and many.

Ps 27:8
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Ps 105:4
Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
Isa 55:6
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
1. So in the Jerusalem Talmud, as quoted by Abendana on the place,
"seek the Lord, where he is found, in the synagogues, and in the schools; call upon him, where he is near, in the synagogues, and in the schools.''
And so another Jewish writer, mentioned by him, interprets the words,
"whilst the Shechinah is found in the sanctuary; before he hides his face, and causes his Shechinah to remove from you.''
It was important for the jews to seek God. Why is it not so for us. They were afraid that the Shechinah would not fill the temple again, so I ask why don’t we. Do you want to feel the presences of the Lord or cold worship. It is not because the preaching is cold but your attitude when you came in today.
Listen to what Bro. Gill writes;
John Gill's Exposition of the Entire BibleIsa 55:6
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found,… The Lord is to be sought unto at all times, whenever the people of God meet together, especially on sabbath days, and while the external ministry of the word lasts, and life itself; so the Targum,
"seek the fear of the Lord, while ye are alive.''
Kimchi compares it with Ec 9:10. The Jewish writers, as Aben Ezra and others, generally interpret it before the sealing of the decree, or before the decree is gone forth. It may be understood of place, as well as time, and be rendered, "seek the Lord in the place where he may be found"1; God is to be found, as Aben Ezra observes, in all places, and at all times; under the Old Testament there was a particular place appointed for the worship of God, the tabernacle and temple, where he was to be sought unto, and might be found; under the New Testament, all places are alike, and wherever the church and people of God meet together, there he is to be sought, and there he may be found, even in his house and ordinances:
call ye upon him while he is near; the same thing designed by different words: seeking and calling design not only prayer, but the whole of public worship, and the time and place when and where the Lord is to be found, and is near. Aben Ezra thinks it refers to the Shechinah in the sanctuary. Perhaps it may have some respect to the time of Christ's incarnation, and his being in the land of Judea; and to the destruction of the temple by the Romans, when the Lord could be no more sought unto, and found in that place; or when the Christians were obliged to move from Jerusalem, because of the siege of it; and when the Jews had no more an opportunity of hearing the Gospel there.
